UNTIL THANKSGIFTING WEEKEND
Packing DayHelp us pack the food into bags.
Saturday, November 23rd at 9:00 AM
This is a great way for the whole family to get involved in serving our community. We'll meet at the church and break into teams to form a bag-packing assembly line!
Distribution DayHelp us get the food to families in need.
Sunday, November 24th at 2:00 PM
On distribution day we'll welcome families to our church, give them their Thanksgiving meal, share the love of Christ with them, and send them on their way.
no one should have to go hungry on Thanksgiving
This is why we take on the challenge of serving out community during Thanksgiving. We believe that no one should have to go hungry on Thanksgiving. Each year, our church provides the opportunity for those in need to come hear the gospel and receive a free bag of Thanksgiving groceries. Our prayer is that the material and spiritual needs of those in our community would be met through our church, reflecting the love and kindness of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, November 24, we will be inviting families in need from across the region to come recieve a free bag of Thanksgiving groceries. This year, we are praying that the Lord would send over 300 families to our church during Thanksgifting. To participate in Thanksgifting at Christ Community or to register to receive a bag of groceries, please click the corresponding button above. Attendees should expect to spend about one hour at Christ Community.
frequently asked questions

questions about serving or donating
How many bags should we donate? We are praying that the Lord would provide 400 hundred families with bag of Thanksgiving groceries! We know that if each member of our church gave a bag this year, we would be able to provide each family with a free bag of Thanksgiving groceries.
What's the difference between Packing Day and Distribution Day? Packing Day is Saturday, 11/23/19. On Packing Day, we will meet at Christ Community to pack all food items into bags. This is a great way for families to get involved in serving together. Distribution Day is the main event. Distribution day will happen on Sunday, 11/24/19, at Christ Community Church. All serving are encouraged to participate in both.
Last year, my family packed a bag. Why are we packing bags differently this year? Last year, we were able to pack over 600 bags with only dry goods inside. However, we only had enough poultry for about 400 bags. While we were able to donate the remaining bags to a local food pantry, we know that we could be more effective during Thanksgifting this year if we were able to utilize these contributions differently.
Can I still bring a packed bag? This year, we are asking donors not to bring packed bags to the church. Instead, we are requesting for donors to contribute online or during Sunday services. We would love to encourage anyone who enjoyed packing bags last year to register to serve this year on Packing Day.
