FEBRUARY 4, 2021 – GRIT AND GRACE

It’s hard to believe, but here we are in February of 2021! We continue to move ahead trusting and believing God is working all things out for his people including Christ Community in this season. As I think about 2021, there are two words that I’m living by as we head towards Easter, Summer, and the Fall: grit and grace.

I want us to be Christians with grit and grace in this culture. In this crazy world that we are living in so many are captivated by fear, by anxiety, and by all kinds of other emotions due to what is happening in our country, the world, or in our own communities. We need to be gritty when we consider who our God is, what he has called his people too, where true authority and power lies, and the immediate step of obedience before us.

While we need to be gritty, our grittiness never needs to superceed our grace. We want to be grace-filled, grace-driven, and grace-lavishing people for the glory of God. God’s grace is seen so much in the death, burial, and resurrection of his Son Jesus, and that same grace that is compassionate and merciful towards sinners, must be seen in those marked by Jesus.

Grit and grace must mark us if we’re going to adequately move the mission of God forward in the days ahead. This is why, as a staff team, we’re trying to do the best we can at calling  our church together for in-person services in ways that meet your needs. We believe the church is called to gather together to be encouraged by God’s grace towards God’s mission. We’re making every attempt possible to provide opportunities for you to connect in ways that are comfortable and safe for you to do so.

LADIES NIGHT HAPPENS TONIGHT!

Ladies Night is happening TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Women, I want to encourage you to attend this awesome event. No matter the season of life you are in, this event will be beneficial for you! There will be cookies, fellowship, and a panel of women who will be answering any questions you submit when you sign up.

Tell your husbands, parents, or friends to watch the kids and join other women from across our region for Ladies Night tonight. You can sign up to attend either in person or on zoom!

NEW SERVICE TIMES BEGIN SUNDAY

Beginning this coming Sunday, February 7, our services times are shifting just a bit. We will have have two services times, but continue to have three services. Two services will take place simultaneously at 9:30, one in the gym (masks recommended) and one in the sanctuary (masks required) and our 11 o’clock remains at the same time.

These time changes will help us better accomplish the work God is doing in our church and better serve our church family and our staff team. This allows us to be able to provide Kids Community for all three of our services and expand some of our team member roles and responsibilities so we are able to have members serve one service and attend one service. All this puts us in a better position for the long term future of our church and the growth we see God orchestrating.

TIME TO MEET A NEED!

I LOVE MY CHURCH DAY

I Love My Church Day is coming up on Valentine’s Day, February 14. I hope you and your family will make plans to join us in-person for one of our three services. We’ll have some special things going on for everyone in the church that day, especially students and kids.

When we talk about loving the church, what we’re actually saying is that we love the people who make up the church (you!) and the mission for which the church has united around (the gospel to the ends of the earth!). That’s exactly what we’re going to celebrate on I Love My Church day! Make plans now to join us for this special day together.

Our church is growing. New people are coming and we have a great need for our members to help out. We have an immediate need for new people in three areas: Kids Ministry, Worship Ministry, and Media/Production Ministry.

If you are member who is currently not serving and gifted to serve in one of these areas, would you consider stepping up and volunteering? If you are new to the church and you are in the growth track process, please consider becoming a member and joining our volunteer roster. We have a need and I am hopeful you will consider serving.

NEW CONTENT FOR YOU

Our team has been working hard to provide good resources and content for our church over the last year. Recently, our production and worship team recorded a video to introduce, O How Great. We sang this incredible song together last Sunday in our worship services. If you haven’t watched yet, take a moment to check it out! While you’re there, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel! It makes a difference!

EVERYWHERE WE LOOK

God is on the move in each and every ministry area within our church. Everywhere we look we see the hand of the Lord moving and working, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future. We are going forward with grit and grace!

I’m expectant for the Lord to bring a great move in the days ahead. Let’s keep praying and keep moving forward together on mission.

Advancing God’s Kingdom together,

Ronnie Parrott
